Looking great Chris.
Thanks again guys , don’t know if said brother liked it because he hasn’t really said much. The main thing is, I enjoy making it and now I have a new bass. I’ve had better feedback from you lot. I...
Hi all, I have finally finished this little fun project and have learned a few lessons in spraying solid colours. I sent these pics off to my brother (who didn’t know about it) but haven’t heard back...
That colour goes well with the gold, looks great.
Had a bit of spare time today, ha ha ha, so I added a bit of bling to the headstock. Coming along nicely.

Too much time on my hands in lock down, not used to this not working business....

Some pics of my repair on this bubble. After a bit of wet sanding I will give it a couple of clear coats to seal it and hopefully it will look as if it didn’t happen.
Thanks guys, unfortunately it was back to the wood. So a quick sand of the area and filled with epoxy and away we go again. Luckily it was on the arm cut-out, so I could tape off the rest of the top...
Thanks Mac, I have this week at home and have resumed work on the bass. After an extra coat of colour on the body I left it out in the sun and low and behold a bloody air bubble. Never mind, sanded...
Thanks for the inquiry Mc,not locked out, but have been out of Sydney for 6 weeks with work. I do painting and maintenance work for Best and Less and have been repainting our Port Macquarie, Dubbo...
Thanks for the feedback guys, hopefully I will be able to get back home soon to finish it.
I didn’t think any one would notice that ha ha.
Hi all, I haven’t been home for 4 weeks, working away at the moment but I got home for a weekend and did a bit of a test fit and temporary install of parts so I could get some holes drilled and lined...
Well done Jmax.
Good one Mac, I have never been called that before. Much.
I hope this is some help.

Hey Evie, nice pick guard but I think the body is routed for a strat style pick guard not P-bass. You might just have to do a bit of routing yourself to pick up that out let hole. I am doing a P-bass...
Ok, so I didn’t get to put binding on the fret board so I cheated a bit and painted it on, I think it looks pretty good and will do for now. I used a pale cream to give that slightly aged look then...
Nice work John, a bit different but nice. I wouldn’t try burning a guitar finish as I would probably burn the place down ha ha.

Some Pictures of my progress, I am really liking this Duramax primer, goes on well and sands easy.
Good on ya Ozz, I feel the same and won’t be entering any future GOTMs. I have had a couple of wins and that will do. Leave it to the newbies for now.
O.k. I have decided to use Duramax primer/undercoat by Dulux, I have used it before on my axe bass. The only problem with that is that they don’t have a corresponding red colour I need. So I got some...
Just in case someone is going to pull me up about the “stained with poly” line, I meant stained and then finished in poly. I know there will be someone just itching to pull me up, ha ha.

This is a picture of me in 1977 with my brothers P-Bass, unfortunately it had a bad crack in the neck which I tried unsuccessfully to repair. Not long after it went to heaven. I was only 17...
Thanks all, a very enjoyable build. Congratulations to John as joint winner, a really beautifully turned out guitar. I didn’t think I had a chance with such great work from every one else. Well done...
Nice work J, that colour is really nice and looks great on that quilted top. The way you have splayed the tuners is a bit different, I also found the tuners a bit close on my ES-12G.
