Thank you Adam for keeping us up to date- and I think I speak for us all in saying thank you so much for your Herculean efforts. Not only have you built a well-respected business with a stellar...
On my JZ-1 kit I ended up carving out a larger cavity for a wider pickup spread and customised a new pickguard from.a pearloid blank.
It can be done, but I'd counsel doing a lit of planning prior...
This could fulfil all my Allan Holdsworth aspirations...
I'd love to get my paws on one, but they're dreadfully pricey.
Can you get odder than the Gittler guitar? Look ma, no body!

A couple of things that come to mind are the size of the holes that house the string. They may need to be widened to accommodate the thicker bass strings. Also the gear ratio may mean that you wind...
A Sandberg Custom Thinline. Looks edible!
Thought thus may be of interest. A saddle-less design is certainly intriguing!

That's glorious! Well done! What did you end up stringing it with?
Fantastic! Very keen to hear it when it's done!
Oooo.... yummy!
Good grief, these are superb! Very well done!
I can definitely recommend the Newtone Axion set. They're all I use now as the value for money is unbeatable. I'm keen to try the Kalium sets but the postage was more than the product. Unjustifiably...
Now this I like! Story of the build is here:

What strings are you using for the Bass VI tuning, out of curiosity?
Oh I'm loving this thread. The Bass VI has become my primary instrument now so anyone else taking up the challenge always piques my interest.
Test string-up of the Sterling. Pickups will be attended to on my return home.
Good news: intonation is spot on and the TOM bridge piece is large enough to accommodate 30" scale length. Also...
Fodera Nautilus. Wow.
Oh my.... the temptation!
F-hole Strat with 30" neck.... hmmm, the Bass VI of ultimate death...
Rough shaping of the new pickguard. Quite a way to go yet but we're getting there, and already the bling factor is strong.😀
Now the replacement white pearloid has arrived I've traced out a redesigned plate. I'll have to rout out a bit more room on the body but the pickup spread will be more effective methinks.
I am this close to ordering a set of Funk Fingers...😂
I'll take all the help I can get!
A few 5ers are strung with a high C on top- so low to high it runs EADGC. Very cool for jazz solo stuff.
And we're finished! Meet Buster!
