Yeah that was the impression I got too DB. I'll shoot Adam an email.
Yeah, to me it doesn't seem to be machined right. It's actually flat at the back and then sort of has a curve to it. I would have assumed the whole section would need to be flat to get good contact...
I'm back!
It's been a while since my first build now, and although I hardly have time on my hands anymore running around after an 18 month old, I couldn't resist picking up one of the specials...
Hah yeah Wokka, life is getting in the way a bit at the moment! I try and have a look in here when I get the chance, but the little man takes up a lot of my time. Still hoping to free up some time...
The SG-1 I did had the same colour burst and I did a satin finish on it. I was really pleased with how it turned out, but I reckon your ES would look good either way.
I miss Germany :(
Given the photo was taken in Bavaria, I'd bet my wages that isn't a chook, but a big fat joint of the tenderest juiciest pork you could ever wrap your chops around ;)
Hah, just the one at the moment Adam. The other in the pic isn't mine. Although the wife is starting to get clucky again :?
That's one purdy guitar. I already wanted one of these, but this build diary has just increased that desire. God I wish I had some spare cash, but this guy seems to be draining it:...
Super cool axe mate. I feel a bit weird knowing this build diary is finished now, knowing how long it's been active for.
Looking forward to seeing your Les sPaulted come to life now. Still madly...
Of all the axes you've done Wokka, this is my favorite. That burst just screams classy from the rooftops :)
Lovely burst Wokka, but I'm concerned that the pick guard might cover it up completely :?
Super cool looking guitar mate. Don't stress about the mistakes, you're doing an exceptional job given it's your first build :)
I said it when you first started this thread months ago Wierdy. I am in love with that cap. I do a little sigh every time I see the grain on it...
Hey guys, haven't posted here in a while, been busy with the new bubs so guitar building has had to be put on the back burner for a while (kids are expensive :( ).
I felt compelled to post here...
I see. Ringwood East? I'm two streets up the hill from the Heathmont shops on Canterbury road. Right round the corner seems like a pretty good estimate!
Huh. You're right around the corner from me. I'm in Heathmont :P
That headstock shape looks vaguely familiar ;)
Yep :(
Hopefully i can nab something else!
Loving the 99 cent auctions at the moment!
But to whoever won the Paulownia LP... Curse you! You just outbid my wife on my Father's Day pressie *cry*
Why buy a salted top if you're going to paint it? That just baffles me...
On a roll of not being able to get over the line... Roos are serial offenders this year of throwing away winnable games.
Freo will flog them.
Trappists Rochefort 10! Good to see you're only drinking lightly while working Wokka!
That's Azure Lagoon? Could have sworn it was Surfer Girl when I looked at the pics, very deceptive!
