Right?? I'm in the same boat, it looks so freaking good, but I barely use it musically. It's all about appearances ;)

My Tl-1 'Charlie', with a few aftermarket upgrades. Artec filtertron clone in the neck, bigbsy and vibramate for the bridge. 5 way switch. Finished in dingotone uluru red (body) and bloodwood (neck)....
I strung Gwendoline up, did a very rough tremolo set up and tested her out! She's alive!!
Definitely needs a setup, but will let everything settle for a few days before tweaking anything major. ...
Thanks everyone! Been slowly finishing up the neck, did two coats of bloodwood Dingotone, then two coats of final neck coat dingotone, with about 5 days in between each coat (had a lot of travel in...

Been a while between updates, but have just been slowly adding tru oil layers and sanding back, just did a 1200 grit wet sand and it feels so smooth!
Also shaped the headstock. I had some...
Cheers thanks Simon, good advice. The dust came right off. I'm sanding at 800 grit with turps at the moment and it's looking really nice. I hate the smell of turps on my hands though - might have to...

Hey Simon, I tried some 600 grit with turps, it left it smooth but its left all these grainy spots. Is that normal? Looks like gaps have been filled with the sanded off finish, mixed with turps....

Been a slow week of progress, but got back on her today.
So far, it's been 6 thin coats of tru oil, then a very light run with 0000 steel wool, then did coat number 7 today. Aiming for 12 coats....

OK sanding went well, stained it and started the true oil process. Nice and slow, very thin coats twice a day. No rush here at all, taking my time. Will do a super light sand with 600 (or even a 0000...

Ok all, it's been a while since my last update - long Christmas break, but a dug out the body this weekend for some grain filling! I had sanded to 220 last time.
I've never done this before, so...
Small update, just sanding at the moment when I can. Almost got all the machine marks out. The horns and the changes in grain direction are not easy, so it is slow going. I rushed this process last...
Ok I plugged the neck plate holes, and redrilled. Pretty happy with the neck position.
Also screwed up the bridge placement first time round, after drilling I realised I was off centre by 3mm and...
Thanks all. I've plug the neck plate holes and will try again this weekend.

Thanks for the advice Frankie and Waz!
So I'm currently trying a dry fit, see how everything goes together.
Firstly, neck pocket fit. One side looks ok, the other there's a gap. It's only...
