Thank you :) This will be really unique...almost as I imagined and how I photoshoped...
It is far from perfect...but still fine for me and for the moment...
I was thinking a lot about the...
I translated the name like "Golden Madrona Burl Veneer"
Not sure if it is right 🙂
The mounting of the humbuckers will be managed without mounting rings and just by the two humbucker heightadjusting screws...I think it should work, for the cavities are very tight and almost...
Well, some time has passed...took a break during the winter, but the last weeks have been productive though...
After sealing the electronic cavity in the front I tried one more time to veneer a...
The strings run not parallel with the flat body, so actually the angled rings should help to align the humbuckers parallel to the strings, at least in theory 🙂 And I have seen angled rings on other...
Actually I also thought about the battery thing... Maybe for other reasons than you, but I also somehow don't like it. Especially in the hollow body...would have to build a pocket inside, to put it...
Looks great with the white/black contrasts.
I just asked myself if the humbucker rings are mounted right :) for the higher side should face in the direction of the bridge.
Then the humbuckers...
Thanks! I moved on and opened the back, to have an electronics cavity. Just used a scalpelknife and it worked fine for the 4mm wood...

I am still thinking, if it is possible to transfer...
I tried to adjust the neck and somehow it seems to work. Had to sand just a couple of millimeters on the bottom side of the pocket and on both sides of the neck. Just some millimeteres were enough to...
Thank you for the input. I am not sure if I totally understand your description of how to conceal the notcentered neck displacement :)
If I just look at the guitar I do notice that it is not...
Yeah, I am curious about how it will become, too 🙂 Have to check your bass build Fender3x...
For the electronics I will have to open the back of the body, making a small cavity to be able to place...
One of the last orders from pitbull at all I suppose...
Always liked this shape of the "Beatlesbass"...
For this custom kit was on sale and I liked the fretless version, I wanted to try it out...
...
In Germany I had also to pay the custom charge. And not just for the value of the kit, but also for the costs of the shipment...if the kit is 150€ and the shipment 50€, you pay for 200€ (although I...
After I glued the neck on my explorer I finished all the wood/gap/grain filling and then I painted the guitar in a box. I used the tuner holes. That worked fine. (wood primer, sanding, primer and...
As you can see in my build, the cavities should be big enough for the EMGs. And you also can see how much space is needed for an EMG set.
Yes, you need usually a second cavity for the battery. As I used a set of EMGs, there was just no space in only one cavity. You can even buy a special battery compartment, for a faster battery...
Thank you very much for the opportunity of getting into the guitar building. It was and still is a lot of fun and great experience! Wish you all the best for the future!
Hi Juan! Wish you good luck and much fun with the kit! I have not that much experience in finishes, but maybe some other stuff that I made for my explorer can help you. It was my first build and I...
Thank you Fender3x! It was really a spontaneous idea. First I did not want to make it that big, but drilled too much and that was just fine 😁
I moved the switch to the place of the second tone. So 3 potis and one switch now.
Thank you guys!
@Jetblack, as mentioned I found a small Medaillon, enlarged the hole up to 2 cm and glued it from the inside. Yes, it was a bit of work, but this was fun 🙂
This is not a build, but some modification on my first ever bought guitar (2017). An Epiphone Les Paul Gothic. I really like the shape and the feeling of this instrument, so I wanted to optimize and...
Well, I really was disappointed when the kit arrived first. But step by step you can work your way out of the disaster :) I am still glad having had this opportunity and hope that the custom shop...
Well, had a very productive week and just kept doing and making, throwing away all fears :) Partly it went out not as expected and some things still bother me. Main problem with the first ever time...
