You don't need to use a lot of water to wet sand. Get yourself a spray bottle, slightly misted the surface, stand your sanding, and keep wiping of with a rag, and continue the process.

Thanks everyone, I am glad the judge see my effort on how to handle the edge of the fabric. I am sure we will see more fabric top in the future using this method rather than hiding it with binding or...
@McCreed You got the right idea, you want the edge higher than the guitar body, prior to sand it down. The edge was really the most challenging and time consuming part in this project. If i have to...
It is normal PVA glue, but make sure it was spread in a very thin layer, as it will soak through if is too thick. The resin I used is call Kraft Kote. At the end of day you could use most...
You are not wrong, it is epoxy resin, first layer is to very thin layer to seal the fabric, then a flood coat to finish off. I also spray the top with poly when I was finishing the back of the...

There is how the edge looks like at the moment, there is a 1-2 mm indentation. I was hopping to build up enough clear resin that I can do a flush trim at the end.

Almost weekend, time to update my progress.

I would would have use sander all the way if I knew that basswood is so soft :p. The other reason try to remove as much material prior to sanding is I am asthmatic, and always conscious try to...
Thanks all, I was looking at solution to seal the fabric for my fabric top. Then discover this z-poxy. Harden wood is just the fringe benefit. Went to fibreglass supply shop to seek some advice at...
Hi All,
I am currently working on my basswood TL1, just finish all the sanding today, and I found the basswood body really soft. I found this youtube video regarding to harden the timber with...
