I think at some point I would like to do another build, but for the time being, I am going to enjoy this guitar. I have some minor work and setups to do on a couple of...
Here is my completed guitar build. It is a Tele Deluxe build, and is based off of the Telecaster guitar Deryck Whibley uses from the band Sum 41.
Upgrades:

I'm not 100% sure what the problem was, but I ended up trying to clean up the solder points and wires on the neck volume pot, and whether the connection wasn't great until I did that, and that's why...
I was able to get the wiring issues all sorted out a couple nights ago, and everything seems to be working well. Thanks for the help and information Simon.
I did make sure to adjust the volume pot while I was testing it, to ensure it was turned up
Which lug should the pickup wire be connected to on the pot? I just want to make sure l had that connected in the correct place before I go and test everything, and pickup a multimeter
The pickup wires for the neck pickup are currently disconnected, which can be seen in the pictures
If these aren't clear enough, I can send more, just had to resize them to post.
So it seems the neck pickup wire is where the issue is occurring. When I have the hot wire disconnected, I can hear a signal from my amp that it is working but once that wire is connected, then I...
I now have the bridge pickup working when testing it, with the pickup switch in that position, but I have no sound when it is switched onto the neck pickup, and middle position with both pickups.

I covered the output jack socket with electrical tape, but I will look closer to see if there is some shielding it is still able to make contact with
It seems when I attach the guitar to an amp to test the pickups, I am getting noise from the pickups when I put the guitar cable in the output jack part of the way, but when it's in fully I don't get...
I will try to send some better photos later today.
Would it make a difference to tape around the three wires twisted together that are soldered to the pickup switch? That's the wire that...
I spent this evening doing what you had suggested to try and get my wiring to work, but I have yet to have success. If there are any other parts of it you want a picture of, I can add more, but...
Thank you Simon and McCreed for your input and suggestions. I have some insulation tape so I will give that a try later today and hopefully it will work.
Is there any other things to try out if I...
Hi all,
I am having issues with wiring up my guitar, I had it wired up last night and everything seemed to be working correctly, but the twisted wire on the pickup switch came unattached today...
Photo updates on my guitar build.
It's been a little while since I have posted an update on my guitar build. Covid-19 lockdown in the area where I live put a delay on some of my progress as my guitar was at my brother in laws...
No pictures for this update on my guitar, but I was able to get started on wet sanding the body last night. First time wet sanding, but had some instruction getting started with it.
Hoping it...
Latest update on my build:
The lighting isn't the greatest in the photo I have here, but I was able to spray my clear coats yesterday, which if all goes well, should be the last spraying I need to...
Just got sent this photo once the painters tape was taken off of the guitar to show how the red X's turned out, really happy with result.
I have been able to get some work done on my guitar over the past couple weeks, with spraying the neck being the majority of the work I got done. I sprayed what I'm hoping will be the last two coats...
Latest update on my guitar build:
I was able to start spraying my black lacquer on the body recently, after doing the sand sealer. I finished spraying the black last night, so now I will wait for...
I am hoping to start spraying my neck and headstock this weekend, just wondering a couple things:
Should I tape over the nut so none of the lacquer gets on it and in the slots?
Should I also...
Latest update on my guitar build:
I was able to get my headstock shaped this weekend, and also sprayed the sand sealer on the body. I have to still sand the headstock and smooth it out but happy...
