I think I ended up with 5-6 coats of Crystalac Brite Tone top coat at this point. I'll let it sit and cure for a week or so before level sanding and final buffing.

I ended up with about 5-6 coats of Crystalac Brite Tone and let it cure for a little over a week. I then wet sanded with 1200 grit sandpaper and I'm on to the final polish and buffing stage. I think then I can assemble it!
Here is before sanding:

And here is level sanded and ready to buff:

That grain is showing through nicely.

Looks great!
Final buff and polish done. Bolt-on neck attached, Grover locking tuners installed and copper tape put in all the cavities.

Nice and glossy! Good work!
Lovely work there Wayne, not long until you’ll be stringing up now!
FINISHED!!
The Floyd Rose took a while to set up going back and forth but works fine now. Not sure what I've messed up with the wiring but it sounds like hell when I plug it in. Just loud noise. I need to check the jack. Maybe something came loose? Aside from that, job complete!

In another diary you said it sounds like holding the end of the lead when plugged into the amp. From memory I think that’s an earthing issue but would someone confirm that for me (or was it the output jack wiring?). I just thought your description of the problem in this diary might help with a remedy.
Edit...and well done!
