Hello all, here is my JK-1. It took me a while to complete, but finally got there.
I sealed and primed the body and head in black primer, so I could use fewer coats of black base coat. Then did a Red Marble effect and faded black around the edges and clear coated it. Sanded it back and airbrushed the Spawn character on it. The airbrush took me a total of 20+hours to complete. Once I finished the airbrush, I laid down 3 coats of DNA Custom Clear coat. It was a great clear to use and came up with a nice flat finish on it.
The flat finish from the DNA clear wasn't enough for me though! So I sanded it back with wet/dry 800, 1500 and 2000 and polished the guitar with 3D polish. I took extra time with polishing the guitar so I could get a top mirror finish. The great thing with thew 3D polish is that it can get rid of some deep scratches if you keep working at it.
The pick-ups are the stock pick-ups in the kit, but to jazz it up I found some plastic pick-up covers and painted them to match the body.
After wiring up the guitar, the covers haven't affected the sound! Thank God!
It did come with chrome hardware, but I wanted to add the Red Neon DR strings to the guitar and felt the chrome was too much. Glad I changed it to Black. it all ties in well!
Super happy with the end result on this one. Hope you all like what I have done and can't wait to see what others have to show.

Where did you get the DR Neons from? Would look good on my TL1 project.

Hi All, took me 2 months, but I have finally finished my fabric top telecaster. The paint job is not perfect, but I know is time to finish it, I can't let my OCD control me. ( I could easily spend another 2 weeks sanding and redo the clear coat.) Anyway still very proud of myself as this is my first build, and was happy is when I play this tele for the first time.
Modification are as follow:
1. String through body.
2. Bone nut.
3. Belly cut.
4. Wilkinson Bridge.
5. Fender noiseless neck pickup.
6. ToneRider Hot Classics bridge pickup.

Took a few months to finish the SG. I think I picked a hard project for my first one. However apart from a few pitfalls things went OK.
The finish was exactly the colour I was after. Feast and watson mahogany stain followed by clear poly coats. A classic dark mahogany colour similar to a SG custom I had many years ago.
Upgrades were:
Bone Nut
Tonerider AC2 pickups
Gotoh Tunomatic bridge and tail piece
Grover locking machine heads
Everything set up, frets levelled and polished and I think it sounds great.
Heres the pics.
