Just started on my new kit. Seems decent even if the top was not perfectly aligned. Will once again be Schaller hardware on my build included also their Hannes bridge with piezoelectric pickups

Start to get bridge in place with tuners.
Alot of work as there is lots of cables from the bridge.

Cherryred/black sunburst or grey/black sunburst is my idea of finish. Any input on that would be appreciated.
That hardware is really nice. As for colour of burst, it's obviously very subjective but I'd be super into a grey/black burst
Think its looking nice in cherry/black and it will match HW good.
Lots of glue stains int the maple unfortunatly. Almost done here with the front.
Also ordered DiMarzio pickups.

YOWSA! That’s looking hot! Nice work piece!👍🏾👍🏾
Slowly make some prgress here.
Using https://nitorlack.com/en/varnishes/stain-en/ dyes, easy to work with so far.
Will be tight fit on preamp, trust me on that.

I’ve know people have built kits on their dining table but I think this is the first one I’ve seen built on a washing machine. Don’t let the spin cycle vibrate it off the top. You’re doing a fantastic job with the staining. Look forward to how it looks when it gets clear coated.
I like how this is turning out, really nice work Piece. I always find it such a crying shame that factory doesn't recess the control or tremolo covers.
I do love those Hannes bridges, If I ever get around to building the 7 string that is floating around in my head, I'll be using a Hannes 7.
Holes in the back is made by me for the bridge. Beware of the work fitting a Hannes bridge. Its alot of mesuring to do there before drilling.
It also took me some effort to find out how to handle all cabels as the manual from Shaller leave no clues what so ever.
Cover for the electronics has to be on top of the back as the body is so slim I can’t get the pre amp in, in any other way
Wash machine is unplugged 😬😁
I really like the way this looks. Almost a bit steampunk.
Just to give an idea how it will look.
Now time for some glossy top finish

Love it, is going to look awesome with that hardware!
10 layers of clear coat so far and counting...
And then the waiting...
How are you doing temperature wise? are you spraying / drying indoors?
Tom Petty provided the soundtrack to finish curing...

It's not really the hardest part though. Annoying and frustrating, but not that hard.

This thread...:D
Piece, Your relationship with the washingmachine is really doing your guitar wonders!
Am I seeing some hints of purple coming through the top coat or is that my screen going funky?
I wrote and deleted it a couple of times :p
Hopefully piece understands it's in jest...
For this one to late, but maybe I should start to put longboats as a logo on my builds 😂
