Woohoo! I’ve been looking into the ‘Men’s Shed’ this week and as valuable a service they provide and a great range of equipment, I could buy a 500W hobby bench top drill press for the same cost as the $100 annual membership fee. I know what Santa will be bringing DarkMark if he stays on the ‘Nice List’. That looks like a nice piece of equipment you’ve scored yourself there FrankenWashie.
Very Very Jelly mate. Is the arm long enough on it to do string throughs?
Yeah it should be, just need to set up off the front of the table.
That extending arm is a cool feature.
Congrats!!!
Nice! I have the same size but in a bench mount, it's done everything asked of it so far.
Oh yeah! So useful, nice one.
Either that is a very tall drill press or the ceiling height is lower than standard 2400mm? Probably explains why Igor is a hunchback?
Developing a hunch to match Igor’s?
It obviously needs to be quite old in order to have a tower to fly the kite from for the electricity for the experiments.
No, too many years of straight backed Rugby scrummaging for that Weirdy. Though I must admit to wearing trucker caps as a precaution when in the workshop, Keeps sawdust out of hair and acts like antennae to let you know you are getting a bit close to the rafters!
Just the right height for a convict dungeon as most of them were quute short, around 5' 2" seemed to be quute common when you check out early history around The Rocks.

I have a custom pickup winding job coming up for you Mr40!
Bring it!!!
Overwound Quarterpounder style set for Strat, you up for that?
With fries?
They're SD's aren't they? from memory they have extra large alnico magnets right?
I found them in my book!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...23c67e2329.jpg

Keep feeding the normal magnets fries until they get to 1/4" diameter.
I'd imagine they'd use thinner wire as well to fit enough turns in around the fatter magnets, which is why they have such a high DCR.
And to continue the FrankenLab arms race, Santa brought me one of these:

OMG ....your killing me! sooo awesome!
Dang, that's a monster. I was just out looking at linisher/disc/grinder combos, and drill presses and routers....
First confirmed purchase:
Cheap table, but pretty decent router

This is without the extension table and guards/guides. I'm actually thinking I'll mount it into the work bench itself eventually.
Nice! You’ve reminded me I need to get a new locking collet for my big router.
I have looked at the ozito table before but haven’t jumped at it, because I just haven’t really needed it. I’ve worked around it with templates and such.
good scores mate!
I still plan to use templates with this, hence the flush trim bit. I've been watching a lot of B&G guitar videos, and this is similar to what they use (on a budget)
The table itself is perfect what I need, set into my big work bench its going to be very handy. The method of securing the router is a bit sketchy, it does work, but I have a much better idea to secure it that I will do when I change the mounting.
I want to get a smaller plunge one as well for things like truss rod/pickup cavity routing.
I'm going to dig up my old semi scratch flying V build as a test bed....
