Djefster twangs again!!
Hi all,
I'm Jeff from Melbourne, professional Sound Engineer and muso from many, many years ago.
I stopped playing guitar & bass many years ago but got the bug again last year when my brother said, "Hey, we're gettin' the band back together again" for his daughter's wedding. I hadn't really played for 30 years, so it was quite a challenge to learn 10 songs. Actually I had to learn to play guitar again.
Anyway I bought a Sterling by Music Man guitar which is ok. When I got on to the Pit Bull site I was blown away with the types of kits on offer (and always wanted to try a Tele Thinline as the semi-hollow style appealed!! So I bought a kit.
I've just downloaded some templates for the headstock and now rubbing my beard in contemplation regarding starting the project. (Oh, total newbie.... no wood working skills or tools, so I'm looking at buying the necessary stuff.)
Well, that's my story....and I'm sticking to it!! :)
Cheers

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum. Thinline tele a good kit to start on. When it arrives start a build diary and share some pics of the kit you scored. Ask any questions you have there. Do a mock build when it arrives to make sure the neck heel fits in the pocket ok and all the parts appear to be there.
Then start sanding !
Best of luck with the build

Hi Jeff, please post some pics of the thinline body when it arrives. Sometimes alot of builders wait till they see the kit before they choose a stain colour, as you might get some nice grain/figure that is more suited to a natural finish.
Think it comes with a white pearloid pickguard ?
You could always do the top a stain colour and the sides/back natural or vice versa. So many options available.
