Hey there, what you got planned
Welcome Melkor
Enthusiast today, addict tomorrow. Welcome to your new obsession. :)
G'day, as requested here's a bit of info about me. I am a year away from retirement and was looking for something to occupy myself (the wife's got her garden). Previously in a covers band which was great fun but it eventually died. I have an American strat and a Epi les paul as well as an old Fender C65 acoustic which I bought over 40 years ago. Found this site and decided that I will get me a kit and have a crack at putting it together. Also, I like pina coladas, walking in the rain and sharing my feelings.
thanks for that Melkor, wouldn't be too many on the forum who have still got a guitar they bought over 40 years ago !
What kit have you got in mind ? You might as well choose something other than your strat and LP shape - but that's up to you. Tele kit are pretty straight forward build.
Retirement is great, every day is Saturday except Sunday :D
My Epi LP is usually played by my son, so it sits around the shed a bit (no respect). I have basically given it to him after putting a set of De-Marsio's in it. (sounds pretty good and he shreds the crap out of it). so, I think I'll start with an LP kit for me, and see how that goes. Thanks for all the welcomes to the site. I have found Nirvana!
cheers
sounds great Melkor. I prefer the LP-1M over the LP-1 as the LP-1M is mahogany body and neck
Hey guys, thanks for all the advise so far. This site will be a wealth of tips and advise, no doubt about that. I'm a lefty, any other lefties out there? We are the minority so we have to stick together, form our own tribe so to speak.
hey Wokka, yeah the C65 is older than my kids and was my first real six string but I didn't byit at the 5 and dime. got from a music store in Footscray in melbourne and my guitar teacher took it a bloke in Seaford by the name of Merv Cargil who set it up for me (he is a legendary luthier in Victoria) The old girl has survived 3 kids, serveral accidental drops and general abuse but she sings as sweet now as she did then. Love the old girl.
welcome to the forum
Does any body know of a site in Aust. where I can get Water slide transfers made up. Looking for a mob that can make them up to my specs.
