Dedman I can't keep up with your new builds ! Why are you priming an ash body ? might as well have used basswood.
Whats the hardware goodies you got ?
After doing a basswood strat I found it just too easy to put a dent in it, even with a fingernail.
There is a Les Trem, a roller bridge (had to fill the post holes and redrill smaller because I ordered the wrong one LOL), a single and a double lipstick pick up and a set of Grover tuners. Pabs will be getting a call about the pick guard (another clear one with art on the back) when I have financially recovered from buying my new amp.
I love the sound of this one - can't wait to see it unfold as it's a kit I've had my eye on for a while too.
fair enough Deddy can't disagree with that reasoning. You would have had to grain fill the ash ?

yea Wokka, did a fill with diluted timbermate, still some grain showing but that coat of primer is pretty thin so it would soak in and seal it up for future coats. Next thicker coats will fill that.

thanks mate, I just use a small suction feed spray gun and auto acrylic. The primer fills really well. This has 6 coats of primer (sanding after every 2), that's 4 coats of red. Sanded a lot of the first coat off getting it dead flat, sanded again after the second (600 grit now was on 400 before) this will get wet sanded with 600, 2 more coats of red, sanded with 800, then a coat or 2 of a mix of clear and red, sanded again, then 2 more of plain clear , sanded to 2000, then cut and polish. It will take a couple of weeks because of other commitments, plus it allows for the paint to really dry out.

thats candy apple dedman if you want a red closer to candy apple you can get color Shanghai Red you can get it in 1 350m tin is pretty darn close to a candy apple can also get a candy apple in the small tin 150ml but will need 2 to do a body if you want at shoot colour with a gun its a cat 4 color due to the mica and pearl in it so expect a hefty price you can shoot the color with a can and shoot to clear in a gun and do a flo coat and it will look amazing just off the gun.Quote:

Despite the different colour, you'll still need to stand with your legs wide apart to play it. It's mandatory.
Wear it low enough and you find you have no choice anyway. :)
