I know this has been raised a few time in the past with mixed responses but I think enough time has passed to ask again. What are the chances of a banjo kit preferably a resonator 5 string? If kits aren't an option what's the chances of a finished item?
definition of a gentleman - one who knows how to play the banjo - but doesn't....
Would be interesting to see if kits for these exist --
Having said that - what about a Dobro / Resonator kit?
I'd have a crack at something like Keith Urbans double necker, that has a standard guitar up top, and a 6 string "Ganjo" down the bottom.
It's probably doable with a midi system perhaps.

Each to their own but it is definitely not on my wish list of things to do, listen to, or ever own up to wanting one if that ever did occur.
I'd be down for a resonator guitar.
I like a few bands that use banjo but have never wanted to play one. My dad busked on the streets of pre-war Sydney with one when he was in his early teens

Resonator or a Dobro I could live with.
Ads has looked into the Resonator kits - quality of them was not high enough. I'm sure that he'll keep looking though.
There was a guy in Canberra who specialised in Reso parts and kits, can't remember the name of the business but I'm sure Mr Google could find him.
From memory he was called Barron something or other and changed the business name, probably so he wouldn't be associated with the mob in Canada who appear to have a rather bad name
I'm just going to chime in and say I play banjo, i make it squeal.
