Hi Kimball big thanks mate for this love it big download. Not having National Broadband makes it slow.
Laz
Downloaded but not touched as yet, we have one of the grandsons for a week while his father is at work so very time poor at the moment
Hi Dave, Your going to be busy for a while enjoy your Christmas with the family.
Kimball
hey KB you are alive mate !!! Haven't seen you much on the forum presume you are busy as pre xmas. Have a top xmas and new year mate and hope you get some time off to get some build work done !
You are dragging your feet to get to overlord status buddy, 74 posts to go !
Yo Wokka, how are you buddy. I've been so busy doing everything but guitars. How are you Woks what's happening in the guitar lair. Hope your good too Woks. Have the best time possible over Christmas buddy. And a good rest. Not much chance of changing status for a while lol.
Best wishes
Angelina Holly and Kimball
haha cheers KB, yeah been good thanks but so looking forward to time off. Got the mozzy (cricket bat) finished - minus some wiring tweaks needed and got hardware for the baritone tele that is half assembled. Then more work on the telemonster. Should get time to work on them over the break.
Box on with the posts and you will be Overlord before you know it. Just reply to all of Doc's posts mate hahah
It sounds like you need more project time too Woks lol.
haha hell yes KB, only if I had won lotto I would more than double my free time !!
the great thing KB after the mozzy and baritele are done I only have a LP-1M hanging to finish and then I can attack the 8 or so untouched kits in the pile !
72 posts to go big fella !
Yeah KB it will be a busy time but hopefully I can get back into working on our recordings early in the new year and if the fat bloke comes good with enough folding stuff I will be ordering a quilted Tele for the Haggard tribute Tuff Dog so that will also keep me busy
Finally got it installed but still not tried it yet.
There is nothing intuitive in the installation and it wouldn't accept my VST folder it created it's own regardless and then had to be moved, you also need an iLock account to activate it.
I've bought it but have yet to download it. The poor quality pdf instruction 'how to' didn't encourage me to. Assumes you don't have an iLoc account but I already do.
The ilok account is free Dave you just need an ilok key about 30 dollars that holds hundreds of authorisations ilok 2 works perfectly
They've just released ilok 3
I spent probably an hour or more trying to find the actual file on the web site, the link only leads to the PDF
They certainly didn't make it easy to find that's for sure lol. But does sound good and a bargain at $1.00 as it finally turned out.
Have you tried it Dave ?
No chance to try it yet, I actually having a break between takes at the moment and don't want to take my mind off it by fooling with plugins
You'll enjoy it even more when you go back refreshed from your break Dave.
The break was a cup of coffee between a couple of rhythm guitar tracks for an original I'm roughing out.
I have got the plugin making some very nice sounds but haven't had time to write and record with it but will do over the next couple of days
OK let me start by saying this plugin sounds bloody good and certainly worth more than the buck it cost, if you are doing recording I highly recommend it.
To this I'll add that writing multi layered MIDI parts is a proper pain in the rectum but worth the effort
Just finished the first cut of the arrangement with the strings and it's gone from something quite lite with a dark subject to something incredibly dark :)
Now to wait and see if my band mates like it before I tidy it up and add a bit of an outro to it
I've only done 2 parts using the ensemble preset with drawn bow, all lower register to emphasise the dark nature of the song.
Anything along the line of Nick Cave's Murder Ballads? I can only listen to that a few songs at a time. Never managed to listen to it the whole way through yet.
Basically it's about a bloke sitting alone in his room thinking about the woman he has lost.
When Bob first played it for us is was a straight 4/4 almost a marching tune because that's natural rhythm, then with Max playing rhythm and me playing bass we gave it a rolling sea shanty sort of a feel which from a drum perspective is a basic rock pattern with a disco type backbeat, sound odd but it works.
It's in Am and the rolling bass and the drumbeat are still there with an alternating AM A+ arpeggio over an Am chord played on the double bass, the verse is a I VII IV V progression with three note guitar arpeggios and block chords on the double bass, the chorus is I VII V# V with block chords on the double bass and slightly over driven guitar and a rising line in the viola and violin.
All this with three part harmonies.
Still have to do and outro but will reprise the intro and extend it from 4 bars to 12 and then a single chorus progression with the slightly overdriven guitar sitting on top ( knowing what I want and playing it are two totally different things )
I've got have a dozen of our originals well on the way but can only share one because the rest are still pending copyright
No One Knows Midnight Like Melinda ( still quite rough in the mix and there are more harmonies to be added )
This was released by Max's band Men Of Country back in about 1976, he wrote it about a hooker that he met when the band had a residency in Kings Cross here in Sydney and we have done a major rework of it
Max is singing it here and playing acoustic rhythm, Wes Grady is on pedal steel, I am playing the bass and guitar parts ( no pitbull in this case )
The pedal steel & acoustic were miced, the guitar and bass parts were DI. Drums were written as a MIDI

The track that follows, Sons Of Poppa Browne written and sung by my other band mate Bob Browne I play bass on, didn't record it but did mix it
I was about to buy another copy of this as the price is still the same and after a bit of a google I found you get two seats ( PCs ) per licence.
Here's the intro of one of our originals that I used this plugin in.
Instruments
Drums - MIDI
Guitar - Strat
Rhythm - Tele
Bass - Yamaha
Strings - MIDI

Dave looks like your getting the hang of the string plugin. Well worth having for $1.00 . Good stuff enjoy all the best .I hope your finding many uses for it.
