Hello,
My name is Jay, from Perth, I'm still learning to play but I have ordered a GR1 and I'm excited to start building my own dream guitar. I have a specific idea in mind, about the style and finish and hope to share, grow and learn with everyone.

Welcome Jay, good luck with the build.
Welcome along Jay - couple of us are Perthites! Hope the build goes well - I haven't seen too many GR's being done!
Hi Jay and welcome. Apart from the Bigsby and a rounded, instead of a Florentine, cutaway, it looks very similar to my ES-3 kit.
So I'd recommend waiting a few days for the wood to settle down after its journey in fluctuating temperatures and humidities, before getting a good idea about how good (or bad) the neck pocket fit is. Mine was very tight at first with big gaps as it wasn't fitting properly, but after a week, I tried it again and everything was fine.
Good luck with the build.
Hi Jay and welcome to the forum. Great to have you with us, looking forward to seeing your build diary
welcome and enjoy, Jay
Thanks everyone for the welcomes...
welcome to the forum Jay, good luck with the build, start a build diary when the kit arrives and do a mock build. Ask any questions you have in your build diary there is plenty of help and knowledge on the forum
Welcome Jay!
welcome Jay
Welcome Jay.
Being based in Perth presume your kit would have arrived next day unless of course Aussie Post are equally as useless for local deliveries as they can be for interstate ones.
Love the Silver Falcon style and drool over the build diaries thinking one day I will have to get on the bandwagon too. Probably because of the Chris Cheney factor more than anything else.
Plenty of expert locals on your side of the country should you strike any difficulties plus everyone on the forum has lots of good advice too so don't be afraid to ask questions as you move along.
