Non pitbull les paul part 2-hammer of the gods

Well whilst waiting on things curing started a logo mock up. Decided to paint this in Hammered Gold!!! Hence Hammer of the Gods , also a nod to Led Zep autobiography / Jimmy page 1959 gold top with split coil switching, which will be part of this build hence using CUSTOM. And will leave the body Kiwi Polish Dark Tan, hence the fender inspired Original Boot Polish Body.

I just printed them on regular paper using Word. Early days yet. Regards the body that's only 2 coats in the Picture so heaps more work...

coming along well HB, looks like you got a bit more wet sanding to do on the gold paint

Early days regards paint havent sanded it yet, the paint dries slowly!!!!, Tried the Finger Nail test got days to go...

yeah no worries HB, don't rush the next coat/sanding, curing times in sunny Melbourne will be pretty long

Looking cool so far, never seen a guitar with a hammered finish before so this is pretty unique.

Doc think it was August GOTM there was a hammered paint effect on an Explorer, check it out

You're absolutely right, how did I miss that one?....I stand corrected now.

Latest Photos...The body and neck Dark Tan Kiwi Boot Polish, the swirl marks are half way through a coat....The front Hammered Gold....Now it will cure for ever!!!!...The will clear coat.

Thks Doc, best part it the Hammer spray is so forgiving to a hack like me....After I sprayed it I dropped a tool on the finish...Left a ding....Just spayed some more to cover it up...I like the Dart Tan Polish...Cheap Arse finish...Will Spray the hell out of it is Gloss Varnish....It will be Chinese humbuckers BUT I am splitting the coils and added Push Pull Pots. I am using the the parts that came with the original kit. The Logo will be similar to this

Thats why I use hammer finish in my office on all the furniture, scratch the desk top? Brush on some hammer finish, 2hrs later ...what scratch?

No Woks, thats just the Gold Paint...It will take ages to harden at least a month... Clear coats to come. Kust finished the paint and sun was out in Melb...So took the photos....

The Gigsum Hammer of the Gods 'Apollo'

Here are the latest shots, body has been sprayed numerous times and wet sanded back...It will now cure for 3 weeks for compound rub and polish...The head stock however was done last so needs more spray coats...Went with The Flying Apollo AKA Led Zep tribute and the logo is GIGSUM not Gibson
