Hi from Brisvegas
Hi All
First time builder here. I'm eagerly awaiting my first kit - a P Bass - should arrive early this week - I'm excited! I've also ordered some Nitro paints which I'm a little nervous about using as I hear they can be a bit tricky, anyways I'll give it a crack. Planning on upgrading the electronics and pickups and maybe going for a relic look.
Hopefully this will be the first of many, looking forward to learning lots!
Cheers

G'day Mike,
Good to see another Brisvegan
-
welcome Mike, yup, they are like pringles, can't stop at one
-
Welcome Big Mike.
Looking at your Avatar suggests you might be an Elvis fan. Definitely not a Vegan with you holding a KFC bucket.
P Bass is a good place to start as they are pretty simple and scratch plate might even come pre wired which works as a great reference tool for doing any upgrades as you can see where all the wires are meant to go.

Another Brissie-ite and a bass player. Welcome to the madness Mike.

welcome to the forum Big Mike, start a build diary when the kit arrives and ask any questions there.
Best of luck with the build

nice looking kit Big Mike, some nice basswood grain in the closest piece of the body.
looking at your avatar have to say "thank you very much" hahha
was the bridge plate holes pre-drilled or did you do that ?
-
The holes were predrilled, which I was surprised about, I was expecting to have to do those.
-
no worries Mike, assume they were pre-drilled look like you ripped open the kit box at work next to the water cooler *(or maybe you have a water cooler at home!
When you do a mock build we will go through the scale length and check it is in the correct location, sure it will be fine.
Don't drill your neck screw holes until you check the string alignment

Cheers for the advice Wokka, appreciated

Oh and yes, that's the missus water purifier, she's a bit of a health nut
-
hahha no worries Big Mike, I reckon a water cooler with whiskey or bourbon and dry for the workshop would be better
