Introduction

Hey everyone,

Just ordered my first kit this morning, a TL-51 Ash. Sort of an impulsive buy really, only even considered building my own guitar for the first time yesterday morning. Spent the whole day reading forums, asking for advice on Facebook pages and watching DIY videos and thought for the great price that Pitbull guitars off why not give it a go.

I got the TL-51 Ash cause I just sold a MiM Tele with a maple neck and I miss it already, instead of grovelling and buying it back I might try and make it! I also wanted to strings through the body and have 0 confidence in doing it myself and the TL-51 was the only kit that had the strings already through the body.

Adam said that hopefully I'll have the kit before the weekend, I'll unpack it and have a look and then maybe start a diary thread. Really looking forward to the process!!

no worries BAR, should arrive by Friday if you are in Perth. Depends if Bones does a post office run today but looks like you got the order in early enough.

Welcome!. WA is a dangerous place to build a Tele, especially a vintage style one, urban myth speaks of the "Tele-Napper" who needs to own every Tele he can and is known to lurk in the west. I think your 51 might be the first one built by a forum member as its a new model. Keep us up to date on your progress!

Welcome along BAR. Yes we do have a telenapper in our midst - though he tends to target DB's teles...

Great kit to start with - feel free to ask any question - we've all started somewhere and had dumb questions with people kind enough to help us along the way.

Great to chat on FB Ben - hope the build goes well! Keen to see how the '51 tele works out. Shouldn't be too much soldering so should be pretty straightforward - holler if you get stuck though.

Ben, can't wait to see photos of the kit you scored, so please start a build diary and post some pics when it arrives, I think once the forum sees this kit the sales will go through the roof !
