Hey trying to build my own guitar . Amazing fast delivery only a week Australia to Canada
Welcome to the forum mate, what are your build plans?
Wow! , It takes longer from the West Coast to the East of Aus!
Welcome aboard!
Not that I'm defending Australia Post... well, I guess I am, I think they're pretty awesome... but International orders go by Air (Express Courier International) and some have shown up in the US and UK in 4 days!
Aussie orders go by rail, so it's going to take a little longer in most cases, especially if you're not in a major city or adjacent suburb.
Mind you, International customers pay $60 (it actually costs us on average $90) and shipping is free in Oz.
"Swings and roundabouts"
In their defence, in 8yrs of online trade they have permanently lost only 1 customer order of mine. I'll take reliable over fast any day.
It was said a bit tongue in cheek. Never had an order lost.....just the impatience once ordered!
I still reserve the right to call them slackers, even to their face ;)
Hey man Good luck on your build, which lp kit did you order? I'm waiting for auspost to finally put my lp-1s on a plane. (Can't wait)

Parts from the UK arrived yesterday, posted general postage, nothing special, arrived in exactly 14 days.
Aussie post are deliberately slowing up the mail, their words, but their parcel delivery's should get quicker. so they say.
So this is my first off the cuff build , I have taken my guitars apart manytimes but never built one , so this will be my learning experience Attachment 10059
so the kit showed up wasn't happy with bolt on neck but my bad I did order it Attachment 10060 so used a Black Tintex Fabric dye
so the quilted maple top had an issue with the dye any how first build so I added Red Tintex Fabric dyeAttachment 10061
now just applied the Clear Coat , Hopefully have it built by next week
looks unreal Darwin, well done on your first build and looks like you didn't sand through the thin veneer?
don't hurry the curing process just for the sake of playing it, take your time.
Hows the neck/headstock looking ?
don't forget to clean up the binding before clear coats, use some super fine steel wool
Welcome to the forum by the way
Geeez! There seems to be quite a few recent builds being completed within a month or so! This one's only been on the board for a week!!!
I've been slogging away on my first build for over 2 months and have only just started applying the Intensifying coats...
So yes I guess i did sand through parts of the thin veneer as i had bubbles and what not the clearcoating has been a bitch to do get nice how ever a little flame and scorch takes care of any bubbles or chips also this is my first build so I am rushing this somewhat Attachment 10068
Attachment 10088 More Fire and Betty Page . I hope PBG doesn't mind me using fire on their guitars
At least you didn't go THIS far...

I did that to My Hamer Flying V
Attachment 10240 OK I know YOU are supposed to take Months building these things It was my First build which was a great learning tool and I promise to go slower on my next Build also to read the KIT better as I didn't realize I was getting a Bolt on neck , however I did put in over 18 hrs of sanding 3 hrs painting and a long period Dying the wood . So I did rush this as I need it for recording anyways probably going to do another LES PAUL this will be my Rhandy Rhoads tribute so I want it to look like His Off Yellow 74 Gibson .
Nice work! Yeah I was a bit rushed on my first build due to excitement....nothing wrong with that! Plenty more builds to start!
I made the same pledge and my second build has taken me I think 5 months so far! (nearly done).
Hope you have some great satisfaction in shredding that beast!
She actually sounds good . I coppered the Pickups and and electronics and she is very quite no hum . the Tone controls are working running her through my Line HD 500 and she sounds killer and with the tone knobs at 1/2 and set with both pick ups she has that warm Gary Moore / Peter Greene tone so I will probably be doing some recording later and throw her in the Guitars in use. My Les Paul replacement is a PRS Torero but I have no guitars with Hard Tail bridges so I missed the Les Paul , Now I do have a Hard tail
well done Darwin looks pretty good for first build. Next build take your time on the finish and you will get a better result.
Quick build, looks good! Overtime I've gone from rapid builds to open ended builds..
