Hello
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member. I built a OM acoustic six from scratch... God it must be thirty years ago... (WTF, Were does the time go?) and I'm looking to get back into lutherie. Although the the guitar worked and played pretty well, the finish was atrocious.
I'm looking to do a graduated re-entry back into the world of making stringed instruments, & something to do a finish and final build is just perfect.
Looked all over the net at literally dozens of kits and chose Pit Bull, mainly on the strength of builds that I've seen here.
I'm going to try my hand at an ES-1, which should be arriving some time this week.
Nervous and excited all at the same time.
Best regards,
TimC
P.S. I'm in Eatons Hill, in Brisbane, so controling the humidity is going to be a bitch!

Hello fellow Brisbanian! Good luck with your build. Let us know if you need any help.

welcome to the forum Tim,
sure you will build an excellent ES-1G axe. Look forward to the build diary.
Another great strength of Pitbull is this forum helps everyone out, so ask any questions you have
best of luck with the build and WARNING this is a very addictive hobby so start explaining to the other half why you need a 3rd and 4th kit to build hahah

Thanx for the welcomes guys, much appreciated.

Hi Fellow Brisbanian! yes humidity problems galore, especially heading into Feb. good luck, look forward to reading your build diary.

G'day TimC! You're just across Cash's Crossing from me!
There's lots of good advice to be found on this forum, that's for sure!

Hi TimC, great to have another Queenslander join the forum. Agree that as we head into Feb the humidity will only get worse and can wreak havoc with trying to get a good finish. Lately I have been applying coats after dark to avoid the heat and moisture and that has helped a bit however you still need to keep an eye on any storm cells coming through overnight that might boost the humidity and moisture levels.

Welcome Tim, looking forward to reading about the build(s).
cheers,
Gav.

Hey Fretty have you got a custom keyboard that has a key with the word 'Welcome' on it so you just have to type their name ?

Welcome Tim, enjoy the re entry trip.

To my fellow Queenslanders,
Humidity, ain't it a bitch? Not been to bad this year, & I'm very lucky to have solar powered AC, so that sucker stays on all day. I keep the kit in the house when I'm not working on it, und I just put a duct into the garage... Haven't got the guts to tell the Mrs about that yet!
Thanks guys.
