I just ordered my first bass guitar kit and I'm super excited for it to arrive. I've been playing bass for a while now and thought it was time to upgrade to a 6-string. Instead of buying one, I thought I would build one. It's a much more personal instrument if I build it myself + I get all the experience in soldering/painting! Cheers!

Hey everyone, thanks for saying hi. I went with the IB-6S, it seems perfect. Do any of you guys now if it comes with active or passive pickups?
All the kits come with passive pickups I believe.
Let us know when your kit arrives. I'm curious to find out how long it will take to get to Canada once I order one.

I have built an IB-6S and I love it. I upgraded to an active system and it sounds great.
Have a read of some of the build diaries to get some ideas.
what are your plans to stain the spalted cap ?
Start a build diary and ask any questions there.
Would love to see pics of the spalted cap you scored. Most of them are stunning
