hope those wooden blocks holding the sander in place are bolted from below - I could see the belt sander going across that jig at a rate of knots !

Hi KB, been good thanks, once you take sleep and work out of your life it only leaves about 1/3 of the week, so mainly been concentrating on 3 beer label axes and 'aquiring' new labels. Tough work but someone has to do it. How about you KB ?
I think your just drinking so much beer your just trying to use up all the labels on guitars woks lol

Yeah, it was like we were fighting against nature. This mahogany piece has a lot of natural red/pinks in it and they just kept coming through - looked really quite yuck. You would need a gallon of Wudtone to cover this baby which kind of defeats the purpose in allowing grain to show through. Works heaps better with the mahogany red.Quote:

Whenever I've stained mahogany body LP's I've used a dark brown stain and it blends in well
I'll sort some piccies out. I've also succumbed to the naughty oil.. again... I'll wack on a few coats then acrylic spray finish over it (I recall Gav using this technique). Not much time with the robot Gibbo but so far so good with the tuners

Just not too many coats dude, or the acrylic wont stick. On my current build I used 3 coats (with no sanding) then started on the acrylic.

what is the advantageof acrylic over TO vs each on their own?
Im thinking it maybe easier to get better final coats spraying as opposed to wiping the Tru oil. I may be wrong....!
