Dont have a bass in the collection so decided to add an IB5.
Will be finished in Cherry Flamenco
Still deciding on leave standard or upgrade to full contact bridge and SD Blackouts with Treble/bass control.
Neck pocket needs a little work but should be ok with the corner taken out a bit.
Really happy with the grain and looking forward to getting some Wudtone on the body.

nice grain Tony, these ash bodies are sensational, I've built one of these, should look awesome in cherry flamenco, one of my favourite wudtone colours. What colour you staining the neck ?
-
Hi Wokka
Was looking at standard clear at the moment. I am now a wudtone convert so looking forward to DBs new concoctions for future builds.that could be because i am such a crap painter.

Beautiful grain Tony. Will look fantastic with the cherry. Clear neck finish is also a good choice! Can't wait to see the combination.
cheers,
Gav.

Adjusting the fit of neck in pocket and looks like will end up with a gap on the other side of pocket that photo of about 2mm+. Has anyone got a way of packing or a shim method that they have used to make look less obvious.

awesome Tony, thats come up really nice, cherry with a cleared neck and black hardware looks the business.
Hows it sound and play, have you plugged it in yet ?

That looks unreal man. How's she play?
-
Hi Guys
Through a guitar amp sounds ok but obviously thin. Plays crap at the moment the action isnt the best - may have to shim the base of neck ( which is straight as) as there is too much angle on the neck and the action is pretty high. Will have a crack on the weekend to fix the issue.
-
Hey Tony, are the bridge saddles wound down to minimum height ?
I'd suggest unscrewing the neck and make sure the neck pocket is clean and sand off any drill shavings from the neck heel. Also make sure the neck screws are tight and the neck heel is seated flat against the neck pocket.
Failing this sounds like you need a shim. I can't remember what the action of my IB5 is like, I can check it out tonight
