OH MY GOD THAT IS..... yup, I can't say everything because there's too much colour.... seriously DB, that thing is AWESOME!!! Let's just hope Adam doesn't see it....
See what? Oh, well that's rather nice.
SORRY DB!!!! I will now retreat to the Pest Cave so he can't get me now :P :D
I reckon that the 13 holes on the back of the neck is something to do with stopping Adam from getting his grubby mits on this guitar!
Where did you get that Blackbutt Dingo?
Gav, as part of our expansion, these woods will soon be available from us. We'll be offering body blanks, shaped bodies and shaped and routed bodies... plus necks and neck blanks... more detail coming in the next couple of weeks.
We predict it will be a lot cheaper than Stewmac. I've already said too much...
OH MY GOD!!!! NOW I CAN REALLY START BUILDING MY EPIC GUITARS AT LOW COSTS!!!!
Yup, I'm just a little bit excited!!
Oh, this is wonderful news... and may make for an interesting project without needing to ruin a kit....
And as ever, DB- your work is superb!
They are actually a result of using a Forstner bit to remove most of the timber before routing.Quote:

An experiment to try and cut down on wear and tear on my rather expensive router bits....
Needs some refining! :D
Looks nice.
Excellent, I won't tell anyone until it is officially announced!Quote:

Ooohh, Ooohh, Ooohh.... And yesterday afternoon as we slaved away making that video for you, you mentioned nothing Adam.... Must say - touch excited...
yes thats fantastic news about body and neck blanks becoming available. Presume they will come as a full kit format with all the hardware. This will make the build a bigger challenge and up to the builder to design the shape.
Can't wait to hear more about this exciting option and what types of wood will be available.
Sweet tele there DB
That's gunna be a super tele DB, the marriage of blackbutt & gold is already giving a lovely warm look.
Can hardly believe the tantalising news Adam's let out of the bag either.
P.S. 13 holes makes coven - doesn't it? ;)
Any chance the announcement may include something like orange drops and CTS?
Straplocks? Adam doesn't jump around the stage... What's going on there?
What can I say DB, other than I'm looking forward to your visit on Saturday. Seriously, that is a gorgeous Tele, you continue to outdo yourself. BTW, everyone, I don't get to keep DB's own scratch builds (yet).
aaaaahhhhhhhhh! That's a thing of real beauty!
Wow.... Just wow....
Damn, that was quick! A superb result DB.
Really nice Phil.
Call me old fashioned, but I just love elegant simplicity.

holy shut DB that is another masterpiece from the DB man cave, you did knock that up quickly, no idea how you will stop the tele napper aquiring this baby, all I can say is good luck and you may need to hire 24 hour security !!
By the way Gav was your tele still upstairs after the Sunday visit ?
I do remember that Gav helped Adam get to his car, maybe part escort to ensure that nothing went missing??? :)
Made sure Adams hands were full of other stuff when he left....gutted that its still here though! Obviously wasn't up to DB's high standard!!!! :)Quote:

nah Gav nothing wrong with your tele, good technique to fill the nappers hands with video equipment instead !
Gobsmackingly gorgeous.
The trick is to be organised, have template ready- (I already had Tele template made up. Saved me about three hours), have a clear picture in your mind of finish etc, hardware ready to go and no interruptions.
The body has two coats of colourless and three coats of top coat.
The neck was already finished, waiting for the right Guitar body, this saved at least four days on the build.
Fantastic job DB. I hope some pays you lots of money for it, so you can more more of these things of beauty!
DB, I'm not normally a fan of gold hardware (but always a fan of Aussie hardwoods) but this guitar is simply stunning. How does she sound?
Well Todd, Adam had a play of her yesterday and she sounded pretty nice... Adam had "that" look on his face when he was playing her so I reckon that means He liked what he heard..
Maybe Adam will post his thoughts ?
I did indeed have a play and it is one of the most gorgeous guitars I've ever played. I feel privileged to have witnessed DB progress from "dabbling" in guitar building to producing some of the most stunning guitars I've ever seen.
I don't mean to piss in his pocket, but, in the last year, I've seen, held and played a lot of guitars. The last few guitars DB has built; this Tele and the Baritone, are without a doubt the most beautiful and playable guitars I've ever played.
High praise indeed! Great to have you around DB!
DB, did you win the Lotto to be able to afford those magnificent comments from Adam? I am amazed they maintained their tone despite the length of chain attached to each!
Dunno - personally think Adam would walk through fire to get his hands on that Tele...
Gee... Thanks Adam, very high praise from a man who really knows his guitars... I am humbled by your kind words. Thank you.
Nice! I think we need a vid of that tele to hear her sing!
