Speak to Wokka!
WOKKA!!???
I saw that too...very interested (what sort of case do you get for one of these though? for that matter, what sort of stand do you get??).
Yeah, sorry guys, I got one in for a special order for someone and Wokka bought the one that I put on the site (it was only on the site for a few minutes). I do have more coming at the end of this month, they're on the water now. There's only 5, so if you want one, best you backorder. But maybe wait for Wokka to give a quality report. I photographed one today and they looked pretty good. Oh man, have you ever had to line up 18 machine heads?

This is hellishly tempting.... 8O
As part of my Rush viewing of tonight, I have seen Alex playing his 6/12 SG twin neck and thought I could go one of these (I don't have a twelve string so what better way of getting one?)...some big expense coming up but certainly, if I can squeeze some extra bucks this way, I am also super tempted :)
Next I am going to see if I can con Adam into ordering a Ricky doubleneck Geddy model.... ;)
I like your thinking Bass guy :DQuote:

Mean while, Adam is recuperating from a nervous break down bought on by the request for a Geddy model....
Geddy model...Best of both worlds for any guitarist. Bass and Guitar in one!!!
STOP, too many guitars!! ;)
Yes I was lucky enough to be at Adams Saturday for a photo shoot and he told me about the twin neck SG, so as soon as I got home I ordered it, got an email it was with Australia post yesterday so should arrive by tomorrow, I'll give you the report then and take a mock build pic, this baby will be going in the build diaries, and with any luck DB will have aramanthine in his hands Friday and I'll be finishing it in purple !
I've already thought of how to make a jig mount to hold the body in the vice !
Very keen to see the pics.
Lucky bugger!!
no worries Ray will start a build diary as soon as I get it !
the photos on the PBG site will be my axe !
Saw the pics, cool.
It's a 3-switch Epiphone model, but no split inlays on the neck - so us cloners will have some work to do if we want a full replica.
None the less, very excited.
Hi Ray,
yes not too worried about an epiphone model with no split inlays
trying to find a wiring diagram, its going to be a monster job wiring this up !
If you are keeping it as a 3-switch then;
- The 12-string (upper) and 6-string (lower) are both independently wired, using one Tone and Volume each.
- SW-3, the rear-most switch directly below the 12-string, then selects which of them goes to the output.
- SW-3 is mutually exclusive, allowing only 12 or 6 to be selected.
I believe that the Tone Cap. may be different on the upper cct., however I am not sure.
cheers Ray, sure once I get a decent wiring diagram and follow it, it won't be too hard, must be around 40 - 50 soldering joints based on about 20 - 25 for a standard SG so might need a pallet of solder !
You seem to know a fair bit about these guitars, ever played one ?
I HAVE, they are AWESOME!!!!!
Wokka,
I have had a few on my lap.
Many years ago I was loaned an early 70's EDS on approval and (stupidly) didn't buy it. In the last few years then I have bid on a few and was stoked when Gibson released the Epiphone version - but I haven't yet played one I like.
The 2 Gibson EDS I have played "shared" all the lower controls, behaving just like a normal SG, and the upper switch (located between the 2 sets of strings) selected which set of pickups are live. However I am not sure exactly how many poles this switch has, but suspect it is a 2-pole ON/OFF/ON.
