Beautiful sound- much better than mine although I was quite pleased by the sound out of the electronics delivered with the kit.

That's just a great sound. A tad more British sounding than NJ to my ear, but that's good IMO ;-)

I'll admit that swapping out all of the electronics was probably a bit overkill, but I was changing the pickups anyway and I thought, why not.

There are few things you can do to improve the sound that are more of a sure thing than installing high quality electronics. I generally toss everything but the caps, and sometimes those too. The proof of the pudding...well you have that :-)
