Ooh... What are the layers here?

The core is rock maple 25mm, 10mm slices of Zebrano either side.
There is going to be a .5mm slice of red maple veneer between each of the zebrano halves to accent.

Wow! Watching with interest!!!
I'm getting closer to pulling my finger out and doing a scratch body. (will definitely do a manufactured neck)
I haven't decided on the shape though. It has to be "not a tele" "not a strat" though. I wish I had an Igor...
Geez, that looks nice Frankie. One day I'm going to use REAL wood.

Breath = baited. In anticipation.
Yes, I get that. I am a strat guy through and through, and I think it's just ergonomically (near) perfect. I don't don't want to reinvent the wheel nor go OTT just to be different.
Then I have these strange marriages in my head of "a little bit this, a little bit of that" hopefully without looking like a dog's breakfast.
From looking at the grain of the two pieces of wood you're using for the top of the guitar body, I just know that it'll come out looking great once the build-process is completed, definitely going to keep an eye on this thread for sure.
This will be something special, any plans for an unusual neck?
Now that would be something to behold!
The ice cream sandwich progresses

Alignment pins fitted, clamped together pending glueing

All the little jointy bits are in alignment

Just the hint of red veneer to break up the brown and black.
All I have to do now, is build a sandwich press.
