Hello all, my MBM-1 kit has arrived. This is going to be my first build. I have had a quick look after work and everything appears to be good. Now to whip up a mock build and see if I can find any problems. I have been going through the forum and getting ideas of what to check, and what problems may arise. Hopefully it all goes well.
Hi Mortem, welcome to the forum. Can't recall seeing any MBM-1 built recently so this will being interesting to watch and see how it all comes together.

Here it is in it's original form. I am planning on a dark red finish with black hardware. I got the black Grover 406c tuners, now looking at other hardware to add to it.
I decided to do a little bit of contouring just to give it a bit more definition.

I have spent the day sanding and giving it a grain fill with ebony timbermate. I am wanting to enhance the grain in the mahogany hence the use of the darker ebony. It appears to have darkened it up nicely.
I have ordered a graphite nut to replace the plastic one that came with the kit. I am also playing around with the idea of doing a rosewood truss rod cover.
So I have nearly finished the staining. Thought I might post a few progress pics.
