Hello
Howdy all,
I have bought an ES-12G kit. I have never built a guitar before, so lots to learn.
Looking forward to making a start but it will only be in the new year.
At this stage I will put it together with the as supplied bits and see how it goes/sounds.
I have some dyes on the way from Stew Mac. I intend to spray it with Nitro as the final finish.
I have been reading many of the posts here and there is certainly lots of info to digest.
I will start a build thread when I get to it.
While I am at it - have a merry Christmas and happy new year.
Cheers

Hi Roly, and welcome.
Sounds like you've got a good idea of what you plan to do, which is good. All the best for your build. Seasons greetings to you as well!

Hi Roly welcome to the forum and you have dived in the deep end with a ES-12G kit. Plans sound great. Ask any questions you have in your buid diary. Best of luck and don't rush the build

Thanks for the welcome.
I like a challenge so based on your comments it looks like have one ..LOL
Plan is black cherry burst finish.
I am an electrical engineer with an electronics background. I also restore old cars, so hoping my panel and paint experience will be applicable in some way. I have some good quality guns that should help with the finish.
I am looking forward to starting but it will only be after christmas. I have an old table that I will cut some practice bodies from to work out the BCB before I start the real one.
Cheers

sounds like you have ample experience Roly. A good tip to pull the pots through the F hole is to get some 5mm plastic tubing and it fits over the pot shaft.
