Hi, New to Pit bull, guitar kits and forums, it will be interesting to see how it all works out. No doubt I will have a quite a few questions as I get started. Just bought a RCA-4 kit.
Cheers

Hi Alan, welcome to the forum. RCA-4 kit are a great kit to build.
Start a build diary when it arrives and let us know your build plans. Ask any questions you have there, there is plenty of help on the forum.
Good luck with the build !
Nice kit choice Alan, you should check out some of the prior build threads (if you hadn't done already), DaveyCustom's Lemmy Tribute is particularly cool: http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ht=DaveyCustom and Pumpy's superb carbon fibre-ish effort here: http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=4921.
If you've already been and seen on those I apologise for labouring the point, though I found it really handy for inspiration when I first logged in to see what had gone before so to speak. Also means you can nick ideas and inspiration! :). Look forward to seeing where you go with it.
welcome Alan, one of the nicest bass kits out there
Welcome Alan
Thanks for the replies guys, will definitely have a look at the links you've put up. Will have a go at the build diary too, not sure I'm going to do anything fancy with my first effort, probably just keep it simple.
The diary is a good tool to document your build, as well as providing you an outlet for asking questions where things get head scratchy and confusing. I'd highly recommend doing one if you can. If you don't feel comfortable with it, then its no biggie, you can ask the questions you have in DB's corner.
Hi Alan, welcome to the GAS factory.
Cool kit and I was tempted to build one too but ended up buying a used 4003 a couple of months ago.
If you are thinking about using authentic Ric parts such as Bridges or Pickups they can be hellishly expensive but there are a couple of places out there that sell those with one in the UK. Here is their link - http://www.rickysounds.co.uk/
Keen to see how it all comes together.
Thanks for that, I'll check it out and see what they've got.
Hi Alan,
can't wait to see the build diary. You'l have to let us know how fast it gets to the UK
