Gavmeisters ES-3
Haven't posted a build thread in a while but since it seems this one is missing from the forum I thought I'd share.
Picked this up a good while ago and it stayed in its box while I worked on the Keith Urban Collection I put together.
So far I have sanded the body and given the soundboard a painting!

A little work has been done on the neck to date. Full sanding, shaping of the headstock, fell fret job all levelled, painted and ready to play....once it has its body....
Alongside the neck are the tuners I plan to put in... :)

I'm not sure at this point whether to keep the back and side natural (i.e. Dingo tone Clear) or to use a colour? White or black (but not keen on black). Had originally thought all white....but wondering about 'clear'?
Just about upgraded everything except the body and neck. Have some plans for the pickups which will disclose later in the piece. A gorgeous trapeze as shown in the first posting is reserved for this guitar, plus some clear knobs which might mean 'gold-leafing' the pots to match the rest of the hardware. Haven't ever seen gold pots anywhere.....

My initial reaction is go white all round. Even the neck and headstock. I think black would look kind of cheesy. If you wanted to go for a non-solid finish on the rest I think you would need to stain it a bit darker than the current pale wood colour. (but that's only my opinion)

Hey Gav looking good mate, I got one of these kits still in the box from last years August sale.
I agree with Fretty I reckon back and sides would look excellent with maybe DT nullarbor ochre give it a bit more contrast with the white than a pale brown of the natural colour.
Looks like you got some nice upgrades planned as always

very nice Gav, I agree with a darker stain
-
I reckon all white would be sweet with the gold hardware, but a contrasting colour would also be cool. the finish on the top is looking lush!
-
Beautiful white Gavin and darker stain would be my choice also. Even black stain could look nice - as long as some wood grain is visible to the eye. There are different shades of black out there to choose from

The top looks great Gav, for me personally I would go all white

nice one Ponch, I reckon you say all white because your Chips bike is mainly white
