here she is! courtesy of a microscopic chip in the veneer i was able to more or less steal this of adam.
plans are to leave her stock apart from the wiring, using the cloth gear.
finish will probably be japan brown back, sides, neck and back of headstock. top will be ebony timbermate into the mahogany canyons and on the spalty back, sanded back to pop the grain, japan black, sanded back again ever so lightly, then an airbrushed black burst, 2k clear to finish,

kit looks great apart from that small chip in the veneer, a chip out of the heel join on the body and a few tiny glue spots. otherwise she is pristine.....
apart from the neck fitting. i'll try get a decent photo and post it later on. not too concerned til i break out the measuring tape and see if the scale is in spec

looks great Andrew, sure it can be rescued. Its basically a half price kit so you can't go wrong. If you match the colour of the cap those cracks/openings can be filled and you saying the chip at the bottom will be covered with a black burst. Lovely spalted cap, should look awesome

Very jealous!
If only I'd seen this bargain just a little sooner... :P

It's taken 2 nights sanding to get to this. I'm a chef, do 12.hour days so when I get home at 10 it's hard to get any sanding done without the neighbours throwing shit at me. I've nearly perfected the art of silent sanding. Still want you can to come back a touch but the effect is there.
