I'm assuming a flat bridge since I requested hardtail but I'm not adverse to TOMs (great intonation/action adjustments). Either way I will be a happy camper. Planning on a transpurple finish with black back :) I'm making my dream strat - my dream 7 is next then I won't be building for a while (he says...)
-
yer I'd say being a bolt on and the neck probably won't be tapered like a G type axe it should have a flat bridge.
Should be a winner. Let me know when you find the time machine so you can receive it now !

Hey Wokka how could you tell that your tru oil finish on the strat was cured? I've just taken mine out of the cupboard to have a look.
There's absolutely no solvent smell and it feels smooth... Are there any hard and fast rules? It's been about 3 weeks.
-
Hey Nick, pretty confident 3 weeks should be enough curing time. Try a bit of polish on an area that will be covered under the pick guard to be safe. Post some pics please
-
Don't have any polish currently. The finish actually levelled really well.
What polish should I use and what do I apply it with? I've heard old jeans work well?
-
Nick, if its already level sounds like it won't need much polishing. I normally use an automotive cut and polish (forget the brand) but Jarrod has the best polish suggestions, hopefully he will see the thread and recommend what he uses, I can't remember).
I wouldn't use old jeans to polish the body, I try and use a lint free fine cloth, the smoother the cloth the smoother the finish you will get

Ah yes, I've heard denim is great for buffing tru oil.
-
ok first I've heard of it Pablo, sounds like worth a try !

What's left to do:
Drill pickguard holes + screw in.
Drill and solder jack
Set up bridge/intonation
Give final rub of steel wool on neck
Wait for decals to arrive
HOME STRETCH!
-
looking great Nick, well done. It gets exciting this part of the build being on the home stretch !
Have you got the tremelo claw drilled/screwed and springs fitted ? Don't forget the earth wire has to be soldered to the small lug on the back of the trem claw
