Barge - sorry to hear about the issues - going on Adam's offer - what are you missing to redo it? I've got some large(ish) sheets of jarrah or hoop pine veneer here I could drop round to Ads' that should cover a ST body if that would help. They're a touch dry, but a quick spritz and they can be fairly maleable.
Sad to see this in the wheelie-bin, absolutely heartbreaking. No doubt your next build will more than make up for it.
sorry to hear Barge it ended up in the bin. I've been away last few days and just catching up with the forum,
Maybe in a few weeks you may take up Adam's generous offer to send you a replacement body. Or as mentioned you could try a scratch body, same shape, I'd at least keep the old body for a template for the shape you created, which I really dig. Or at least trace the shape onto a piece of paper.
Take some time off building bro and you will get the passion back to build for sure. 30 page thread can't end now !
You could make a clock out of the old body but as you say you probably don't want to look at it anymore
your joking its gone. Oh well you will be able to reproduce the shape, you have enough photos.
I think you have the record length build diary 30 pages, will have to see how many Pest's LP was.
I'll pour you a few extra pints in the naughty room bro :)
Oh POO!
Now I feels bad 'cause I wasnt following this build as closley as I should have....
There was a workaround but now its too late...
Please take up Adams offer, I reckon that as a collective we can chip in from our various collections of bitz and bobz to get you rockin out on a new build...
Bman has veneer, I am happy to chuck some binding at ya so go for it Broo! :)
yeah Barge, make a start on a new body bro. I reckon at least 5 pages of this build diary are my comments (Woks and Barge show haha).
I had an idea that would have worked if you didn't drill the neck holes you could have shaved about 5mm of the length of the neck heel would have made the intonation close
too right Pest,
or a guitar you mount over the bar - this one had a broken truss rod so was perfect to display. One next to it is a clock
If I were Barge I would have made it a clock.... Would still be nice to have at least some of the guitar at use!
oh well its the perfect opportunity for Barge to build a scratch body, he's got rest of the hardware
whilst it is a sad loss mate, I am having evil thoughts that at least you are human and not every axe you make is mega cool and you are human after all.
that said, take up the kind offers (sorry I only have spare LP stuff, welcome to it though...) and build another monumental Bargey Axe
Bargey - not a prob. The offer remains - let me know and I'll see if I can find something with a bit of character... Managed to score a bit of veneer a while ago from someone through Gumtree.
Mainly use it for the rings, but given I use about 7mm x 250mm for a ring, I think I've got a life's supply.
Nice veneers there Brendan!
