Cheers Gav, im trembling in my shoes now, can't wait to be a part of it!!!
You need to take some good pictures of it and get them submitted!
Yeah, I'll take some tomorrow when I don't have school!
Last night after I went out to dinner with my uncle and his mate before they move to Brisbane tomorrow morning, I got to play the LP a bit more, the bridge pup sounds great in my rig, even when it's clean!!!
So... The build finally comes to an end...
From the Pest Cave of Pestness, I present: The PCG Les Paul Custom!!!
This journey has been the best experience of my life, I've had so much help from you guys here on the forums throughout my journey, I've had all of you involved, helping me, giving me advice, and answering the random questions I had :P :D . This will be a sad but very happy time for me when It's done, sad because I don't have much to do in terms of luthierie for a while to keep me occupied, but very happy because I achieved something that people my age don't normally have the chance to do!
So to all of you who have been here for my epic adventure, I thank you all so much, even before I started I got help from Adam and the other guys who have been there since January this year! I WILL be staying here at Pit Bull Guitars, and the pestiness won't end for a long time, next project is a pup winder!!!
And again, I cannot thank Adam and the Pit Bull Guitars team for all the support and help I have received, there isn't anything I can think of right now to thank you guys!!
A bit more info about the guitar's finish: I went for a more vintage finish, by having short sanding attacks in some places, and I even went a bit easier on the binding, to make it look a bit more vintage!
Ok, time for the pics!

Congrats keloooe!! Looking good!
well done Pest, good effort for your first build, next time if you try a burst try some easier colours to blend. How about raise the bar and aim to build 2 axes in the next 6 months ?
Cheers guys!
Woks -> the burst is actually good, you can see the fading happening in the flesh! It's more of a subtle burst
Yes!!! Digging this!!
That's a subtle burst?! Haha, well done though.
Cheers Pablo, it's subtle in the pics, you need to be playing it to REALLY see the extent of the burst!!!
WOW, 30 PAGES!!!!
Well done Pest :)
Great to see the Axe of mass destruction finished.
Cheers DB!
I did some quick intonation (not perfect, but very very close for now until I really get into the deep parts of setting it up) and the sustain is incredible! It sounds very similar to my Epi LP Junior, this is better though!!!
You will have to post a video pest or a sound demo. Popeyes LP-1M has a great sound. Not far off a real Gibbo. Roll on GOTM judgement day!
Give her a few weeks to settle in. You will probably have to give the truss rod a tweak, then you will be able to get the intonation spot on.
Just make sure you play the axe ultra low pest like billie joe bro. Give it a hiding as DB suggests and small tweak of truss rod in a few weeks. Nice headstock logos bro! Can't get any more original
Yeah, the neck is still settling in, that's why I didn't completely intonate it!
Woks -> Yer, it's around the same height as my Epi, except I need to either flip the switch or adjust the playing style to not select the neck pup all the time, I'm probably going to flip it
Dude, time to find your own style! :)
Great to have heros and all but you need to listen to the Inner Pest, then you will find the most comfortable style......
Remember, there is already a BJ, but there aint no Pest out there other than you.
Yeah, my playing style is a modified version of BJ's style to make it more comfortable for me, my inner Pest is found for the Junior, not the kit (yet!)
Ahhh, Grasshopper... you must embrace the inner Pest! :)
It wont matter what axe you play, it will always feel right once you have completely embraced the Inner Pest...
Yes, I am working on that, I have had a few hours of solid playing today due to the new curriculum!!!
That's the way.. At least three hours a day practice... Sound a hell of a lot, but when you consider most folk watch more than three hours of idiot box a day it is nothing!
True there DB, it sounds so awesome, I never want to put it down!!!!!! I'm still not finished with this beast yet, it needs a bone nut and new electronics!
Well done Callum. That sure was a hard burst to pull off, you didn't start with an easy one, but you did it.
You already know heaps more about guitars than me, and the knowledge you have learnt during this build can only mean that your future builds will be even more awesome.
Now, start that next build ;)
Cheers
rob

Robin, just go to StewMac's site and read all of the Trade Secrets and even the other Free Information they have, possibly even go to some YouTube Channels like FreddysFrets or David Fletcher, they will all teach you so much at once, but you learn so much in one week!
