I can second that. Once you get a critical depth of it on and leave it to fully cure, it is really tough stuff to sand off.

While I'm working on my 18W amp build I thought I'd also try to get this kit over the finish line. It's been stripped three times, but I think it's almost done (up to 2000 grit with TO)
One good thing about waiting so long to finish is that Guitar Fetish had these great white pearl pickups back in stock (you'll have to excuse the socks in the background lol)
I also have a white pearl pickguard and knobs, but I'll have to find them to take pics...

How about pics of the guitar now?
(sans socks of course )
And cool looking pickup. Hopefully it sounds good too!
Oh yeah, pics tomorrow! I have terrible light in the studio so its always impossible to get good photos in the evening
Almost forgot the photo!
This is where I'm up to so far - still a bit of polishing and waiting on some more copper tape before i put the hardware on the body. The neck still needs a little bit of work. Getting there slowly...

That’s looking amazing!
That looks great John. I think you got it this time! ;) (3rd time lucky!)
Is that an unfinished tele in the background???
Thanks guys!
I hope I can make it look schmick - I'm still so grateful to have been able to build this one
Good eye McCreed! I feel like that tele will be my next (inevitable) lockdown project. I'm really into teles at the minute - I was looking at the kits again last night. I have some routing templates to make one from scratch too, but given how hard it's been this past year to get in any fun project work I think a kit might be the go
