Will have to see what it's like when the TO dries, but it looks like you've nailed the look you were after.

Finally found some time to progress the bass!
I had prepared a template to cut a new pickguard with the P and J pickup holes from a blank but it stayed untouched for almost 2 months...
So today I stuck the template to the blank pickguard and used the 45 degrees bit on my router mounted on the Ozito table stand. Worked pretty well.
Still need to clean it up and then I'll cut the hole for the switch plate.
I also applied 3x more coats of True Oil on the body between yesterday and today. It's very glossy without any sanding or buffing...

That’s some nice work Fred, great job!
Nice job Fred
Thanks guys.
Some more (slow) progress today.
I cut the pickguard to fit the switch plate and routed a cavity to accommodate the switches in the body.
I had routed one before but I decided to move the switch plate closer to the neck.
Went well but I think I killed my dremmel... was pushing too hard and trying to take too much off in one go...
Anyway... I did a quick dry fit and I'm pretty happy.
Now I can start working on the electronics. Will keep it simple, 1x switch and vol pot per pickup and a master tone.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...911b181da7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...047c0fa01f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...77b04fe770.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cba4e8d827.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5263bf6f76.jpg

RIP, Fred's Dremel.
Looking good.
I was just thnking about a JPJ today, and here it is. Coming along nicely.
Bugger about the dremel, but you’ve done a good job!
Thanks guys.
I knew I was pushing the little dremmel router a bit too much... was going fine until it just stopped, must have had enough.
That will teach me not to be lazy. Next time I'll get the normal router out of its box...
Re JPJ choice it came as I ordered a J kit but I the realised I was going to want a P bass too (we all need a P bass right?). So I was looking at converting it into a JP bass but I already had the neck J Tonerider pup, so I ordered a p pup and found a way to use all 3 [emoji3]
The 3x switches are meant to remove the unused vol pots from the circuit. Didn't want to always have all 3x 500k ohm in parallel when they're not required.

Sweet. This is looking really cool.
