Thanks guys.
Going on hols to NZ on Thursday and not back until Anzac Day. May not get much more done on this until I get back. Very smooth and shiny so hopefully not too much work required in the final polishing so I can move on to installing hardware and wire it up before end of this month.
Am a bit jealous about your NZ trip  have a great time Waz. this build is coming along really nicely.
Thanks Andy.
North Island this time as my son lives at New Plymouth and we will meet them in Auckland and drive down through Rotorua and Taupo over Easter. Never tried fly fishing and may not have time to try either on this trip but do enjoy the taste of fresh trout. We get back on the Sunday before Anzac day so hoping to get this build finished then before going back to work on the 26th.
Getter closer to the finish line.......
This baby has had plenty of curing time and come up as smooth and shiny as glass. Just a couple of touch up spots required where I polished a bit too hard and started to see timber underneath plus the inevitable scratches from adding and removing hardware to line things up for drilling positioning holes.
Thought I might as well do the cavity shielding, ran out of snail tape and couldn't believe that not even the BGSFOS was open on our local Labour Day Public Holiday!!!
Local Woolies was shut too but a long shot as to whether they would have what I needed besides the usual milk & bread supplies.
Also discovered that Tonerider Vintage Classics have a slightly oversized base plate that required a little bit of delicate chisel work to make it fit....there goes all that snail tape. Will have to buy some more on the way home from work tomorrow night.

Had the neck bolted on and tuners loosely fitted to help with positioning the bridge and surprised at how light the Alder body is. Also pleased with how the neck & body colour scheme blends into one another and saving that shot for the final reveal.
Such a rich dark looking Tele Waz, it's coming up a treat
