must get me one of those rasps. Nice haul. I have a laminate trimmer and and a stack of bits, tried to use it once and scared the crap out of myself, must look up some youtube vids, I'm presuming they can be used as a small router , it was a sales bonus gift from Makita
oooohhhh shinto rasp and micro plane.... i want !
Manly Pabs with his man tools.
I'm just going to sit in the corner and sulk.
Oh yes kitting up for some axe making goodness!

You can use a laminate trimmer to build an entire guitar. They don't have the grunt of a plunge router, so cavities need to have most of the material removed with a drill or forstner bit beforehand, but it's totally possible.
They are scary, but really useful. One of my favorite tools. And Makita is a great brand.
7 coats of wipe on poly in and no sign of any gloss. After a little consulting with the guru (DB), I have come to the conclusion that my tin of poly is mislabeled and is actually satin.

Good thing: it looks great and I'm a big fan of matte finishes
Bad thing: I wanted to do it a bit different this time
There is just no way I'm gonna strip it all off and start again, so satin it is.

The neck, on the other hand, after 7 coats of tru oil is looking like glass. Bit of a shame that it'll end up matte as well.
A few more coats on each and then cure for a fortnight. Fun times.
good stuff Pabs, how often do build plans work out 100% haha
In my case, Wokka, 0% of the time. Haha
