Wokka it is probably just pic, I do have it flush the fretboard plus the high side of the fret board near the nut is rounded probably makes it look worse

no worries Fuzz all good. Sometimes the DB blank nuts are a bit wider than the nut slot
Been doing that on the bone nut for my J Bass to deepen the slots rather than sand the base and wow, doesn't that take a lot of effort to make any progress. Worth it in the long run as it now sounds so much better and also holds the strings in the nut rather than have them partially sitting on top.
I have sanded the nut to lower the action and did a bit of dental floss action to get those strings deeper in the nut which made a major improvement to the way things sounded. Then I hit the fret board with some dingo wax. Talk about hard work had to stop for a stubbie, but it was worth it, plus it smells really nice.

That Dingo wax IS hard work. but defs worth it. each time a change my strings I just rebuff and its all schinie again!
