I showed the pics to a luthier friend of mine and he said pretty much the same thing Jay did. Relocate the holes and use a cover plate and he suggested making one unless you can find something online that will work with an archtop.
I know what I would do but it would change the whole aesthetic of the guitar.

VH have you gotten back to this guitar? Did you fix the string location problem?
-
O Poo!
Rob might just have come up with the easiest solution...
-
Hi Rob havent yet.
Been looking at what i can do around a cover plate that wont look out of place. Also looked a putting a TOM tailpiece in as well. Still deciding on which way to go. Have an Idea but will need to get it made.

So looking to go with a tailpiece that will cover the holes once the ferrules are removed and the holes filled coloured and sealed.
As the recipient is 15 he is really happy with the skull.
To sort out the string ferrules on the back working on something else.
Can now get this back underway.

Who doesn't love a skull? I certainly haven't outgrown it ;).
cheers,
Gav.

Finally had a weekend to actually do some builds so was able to glue in neck.
Tailpiece to go then wire up.

looking good Tony, good to see a few builds on the go and you had time to do some work on them
