@Nick, @Wokka - thanks for the kind words. At this rate I may even be ready for July GOTM. Who knows :). Depends if Johnny or Andy or Jarrod or Wokka or Pablo or ... has a build ready too. Hang on, hasn't Pablo already entered for July?? Damnation!!
cheers,
Gav.
Colour is outstanding. ....
Looking great there Gav! Keen to see how this one finishes up and sounds!
Looks awsome Gav. Mmmmm that would look nice hanging next to my ES.
@Denis, @Brendan, @Jarrod - thanks guys for the kind words! I'm no bass player but I'm really enjoying noodling around in acoustic mode :).
cheers,
Gav.
You've done a phenomenal job here, Gav.
That colour looks incredible, with a really nice, tasteful burst.
Awesome.
And there it is, just up the F3. If only I trusted my car to make the drive, I'd love to see this beastie for real.
Looking superb Gav. Love the colours and the burst. Brilliant job!
May I ask how you applied the Colortone? Rubbed or sprayed?
I used Colortone on my 1st build, the LP, by adding it to the lacquer.
Is that what you did?
cheers
Andy
@Westy, @Fretty - thanks guys. @Andy - Yep it's Colortone applied with a rag and blended to produce the burst. Vintage Amber in the centre and Red Mahogany on the outside. Kept rubbing over with the Mahogany when it was really wet and then wiping it off again with a clean rag to get the travel out from the edges along the figure. Worked extremely well, but I'm not sure I could get such a great result a second time ;).
cheers,
Gav.
