Looks great Nitro. I'm sure it is just the angle of the photos, but the neck really looks green compared to the body.
any chance of a sound demo Nitro ? would love to hear it. Did adjusting the pup heights lower the bassy'ness ?
Yea Wokks, will get one done next week. got a professional player friend of mine who im going to video playing it. My playing wouldnt do it any justice im sad to say. Adjusting the pups and poles made a world of difference. Killed the bassyness and the sustain. It sounds better than my MIM Strat!
Great Job Nitro. Cant wait to hear those SD's. I'm sure your playing isn't that bad...hell I put my playing up (sometimes drunk playing haha)
Are you gonna enter this baby into GOTM?
Gotta enter anyways as it is sort of our little monthly Olympic games, just not every player wins a prize but you never know where you may end up.
Yes or you could be brave and wait until 1st of September and therefore be judged beginning of October.
Oh yea, i found out exactly what those spares were for, aside from the help i got from you guys...So i had better put them in. i know all you guys probably know about these but this is a revelation for me.. lol All part of my learning journey.

(QUOTE) Used to retain the strings inline with your top nut on the head stock of the guitar. Most commonly fitted on the D, G, B and high E strings. This pair are the correct match of 2 differing height trees, the taller 5mm high tree fit the D & G and the lower 2.5mm high one fits the B & E string. The higher tree also has a correspondingly longer screw supplied. The upper part of the retainers holds the string apart by approximately 6.5mm.
Yea, your right, its not about winning, a bit of constructive criticism is always good, and thats what i want to do, improve, i mean its only my first one, im surprised it plays at all..lol...
Actually im enjoying all the help you get here, i mean when a mans got GAS he definitely needs help!!
Heres that demo i promised you, its of a mate who kindly decided to try out my ST-1.
This is the guitar on clean setting, not much tone used.
The first part of the video is of the humbuckers split and the second is of the full himbuckers
I will post a second of it playing dirty.

Cool demo. Thanks for taking the time to post that Nitro. Cool coil split
This is the second demo with the guitar set on Dirty, both clips are straight from the amp, no effects. The amp is a Berringer 30 wts rms.
towards the end there is a bit of fretting on 11 which i will have to fix when i get the time and do a bit more reading on how to, seeing as i havnt checked the fret's at all yet.

Great demo Nitro. Next one you have to play!!
Nitro, this guitar has come out beautifully, well done mate!!
I've been thinking of my next build, and was looking at a ST style kit, but I was considering a dual humbucker and single coil in the middle.
Looks like you have the cavity available for it, is that just something you dropped out and changed in your design?
Thanks for the compliment Zandit. Originally i bought the HSS setup to upgrade my made in mexico strat but decided to leave it original and build my own when i saw this site. It fitted in perfect with no alterations, the cavities are already there. So you can quite easily fit in a hss, hsh or sss with room to spare, you just need the appropriate pickguard to match.
Humbucker Single Single
Humbucker Single
Single Single Single

sOK, I was thinking they were Commodore Special editions at first :P
haha yeah Deddy you could call a tele a SS single Single Commodore
@ Zandit don't stress as you have been an acoustic player those acronyms would mean nothing but glad you learnt something.
Your LP is a HH !!
Wow, just logged on after a few weeks grace while plucking up the courage to glue my veneer to my sg and just seen i have over 6,000 hits on this thread! Im impressed. Thanks everyone.
Well while i have been waiting for coats to dry on my sg-2 ive been looking at my strat and decided im not very happy with the neck quality. The stain came out too green, theres scratches under the clear coats, the headstock logo is too big and gaudy and i dont like the way i sanded off the stain colour round the headstock edges. I think i will completely redo the neck in the solid metallic aqua colour. Will post pics when i start.
Now that my SG-2 is finished i have time to redo my ST-1 headstock which i grew to dislike over time.
Wow took a long time to sand back the stain and clear.
