Thinking of putting a plate a la Fender at the neck heel, there’s not a lot of wood to wood contact and the bottom of the neck pocket is pretty thin. Anyone else done this or is it not a problem?

Nice. I like my RCA4 and the sound great. Still struggling with the action on mine as the neck angle was a bit too flat. Considering routing the body and dropping the bridge into the body a little to fix it...

As it's quite thin, a standard plate would only weaken it further (because of the screw holes). You'd need an oversized plate that was a fair bit wider than the heel dimensions, so that it would spread the load to the thicker parts of the body to the sides of the neck joint.Quote:
