cheers for the link Hoby I'll keep that in mind if I ever build a jazzy with 5 pot pre-amp active system. Looks like there's an extra hole for a mini toggle switch too !
Or four pot plus jack.....
If they came in Black I'd have one on the way "just in case" I get a Preamp for mine...... Still on the cards....
I do like the idea of a bypass switch too.
and, now that you mention it, a 5 Pot setup, Volume, Balance Bass Mid Treble , sounds pretty Good.
just finished the micro mesh pads and polished. got the bridge on, so assembly and electrics next. I'll post some pics when the strings are on !
so got what I got planned to get done. Here's some pics before it got dark. Learnt alot from this build. Bass builds are so different to guitars. I made a blue and the bridge needs to be shifted sideways a little. Didn't have the pups in when I marked out bridge position. Something the forum should know is the Tonerider pup poles are about 3-4mm wider so they don't align as well as they could. The bridge I upgraded to is the same E to G saddle witdth
couple more angles
the beauty of having the battery under the pickguard is the back is just neck plate. As long as I remember to unplug the jack the battery should last years (hopefully).
Still got to fit the string retainer and strap pins and a good setup after I shift the bridge. Off to the workshop now !
Very classy looking J!
Before you go moving the Bridge, are you sure it's out??? Strings look pretty straight on the Neck, maybe the Pickups are out..... Just sayin' .....
It's a pity you can't put a rechargeable battery under the Pickguard and a small "mini Jack" on the control plate to charge it..... ( I often overthink things ) .....
Looks great Wokks. inspiring me to get started.
