Yes bridge holes come in second!
Well, as the weather is somewhat liquid, It seemed an appropriate time to do something other than apply finish. So Myself and Messrs AEG and Shinto-Sama got busy. We had neglected to take shots of the Setting up and gluing and clamping, but we started out with something like this..

There was a whole lot of material to remove from within the cutaways and off the end of the new section of body.
We have ended up here..

the more eagle eyed among you will have observed the following:
- there is still a gaping maw where I accidentally routed through in the control cavity, this is going to be partially filled with Acrylic resin and then will have an accent piece as a cover.
- The Trem post holes are not yet bored. Awaiting the right sized Brad Point drill for this
- There is no relief rout for the Trem, this will happen possibly tomorrow
- Neck heel is being reshaped and two out of four existing Neck mount holes will be filled an repositioned to accommodate the new pocket profile. I'm tempted to thin that out a bit with a nice taper to the end and recess ferrules A la Simon.
The bulk of the shaping is still rough and there are a couple of contours around the rear of the neck pocket and the cutaways that need smoothing and possibly deepening but I am on the whole quite satisfied with the overall shape and the three tone effect of the different woods. Even with my rather panicked glue job the joins have all bonded close and strong so thats a win regardless of my swearing fit at the time.
ON the whole a productive day, despite the sh*tty weather!
bravo! Nice work Doctor F
Great job. Looks like a productive day despite the rain...

Thanks Dedman. Still some stitches to make and organs to transplant, but it is all coming together bit by bit.
