good progress on all 3 of your builds Sam
The machine heads arrived today. Replaced the kit ones with some Gotoh chrome ones as the bridge change instigated a hardware change to chrome from black.

Looking a bit golden in the afternoon sun there.
Oh, and put a logo on the kit supplied truss rod cover. Cut some paua veneer and sprayed vinyl sealer over it.

That's meant to be T VI, as in T 6.
T 6 as in Tilders 6?
Measured it out last night and rechecked today before finally drilling the bridge installation.

Fastened down before drilling the through body holes.

The ferrules aren't perfectly lined up with each other. Though it doesn't actually look as bad as this super-closeup makes it look.

The important bit is that they are lined up with the holes that go through the body. :)
Now I can get back to putting the finishing satin coat of wudtone on.
good work Sam looks good. All the difficult parts of the build are done so you are on the home stretch now !
Are you leaving the ferrules in while putting clear coats on ?
They should fit pretty tight in the hole
I'll take them out for the clear coats. Right now they're snug. They're 10.5mm and I used a 10.5mm bit. The strings will hold them in. If there's any chance they'll fall out after the clear coat is on then I can put a dab of something in there to hold them that won't be too hard to crack if they ever had to come back out.
ferrules should be fine then Sam, as long as they don't drop out when you change strings
EDIT how often do bass players change strings anyway shouldn't be an issue
I wouldn't worry about the ferrules not being straight, it gives it a hand built look :)
This beastie is coming along nicely.
