Hey Kells El Cubas looking good well done ,looking forward to seeing what binding looks like on the reveal
Tks Guys,
the binding I used is Stewmac's cream 2.29mm x 6.35mm. It's basically what is used on Gibson LP's
I have a ton of other cream bindings I bought from China(FleaBay) but the colour just wasn't right. Also the chinese stuff is only 1.6mm thick.
I did the route using my Dremel with the Stewmac binding rig. and AFAIC it came out the perfect size. no protrusion from the binding at all.
It'll look gorgeous Kimbo.
PK
My thoughts exactly (in a nice way)
Such fundamentally clean lines with a dark gentle grain are combining with your skills to create something ultra slinky.
Wish I'd checked Maton's binding method myself - before I started.
P.S. Where is the indefatigable DB's Binding 101 thread??
It looks like a giant pick is being wrapped for Christmas. haha
Maton Guitars - Build starts at Part 1 and goes to 15.

Niko, Never been a Giant Prick, only a little Prick....... rofl
Very nice PK!
This is just about done. I just got to find where I hid the bridge posts.
This will be close to the last post on this.
This scratchy was built out of a piece of mahogany that was about to be thrown in the fire.
It had warped about 5mm across the body so the horns that I had cut on it were cut off and the body reshaped to be symetrical.
The neck was also a fixer as the bottom edge where it overhangs the pickups had been damaged in transit from China.
I glued and clamped it all back together.
nice PK, dont forget some final shots when you are done
